The French Grill

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon butter (room temperature)
  • 2 slices french bread
  • 2 ounces gruyere, thinly sliced
  • 3 sprigs fresh basil

Recipe

  • 1 take cheese out of the refrigerator an hour ahead of time so that it may melt more evenly.
  • 2 preheat the oven to 350, preheat the iron skillet over medium heat.
  • 3 butter the outside of the bread, assemble sandwich with the basil in between the slices of cheese.
  • 4 add 1/3 tablespoon of butter to the skillet and cook to brown.
  • 5 lay the sandwich in the pan until it achieves a crusty brown side. about 1.5 minutes.
  • 6 flip and cook for additional 30 to 45 seconds.
  • 7 spread remaining butter the less brown side, and put in oven until cheese is melted as desired.
  • 8 remove and let sit before devouring.
  • 9 enjoy!
