Tasty & Healthy Applesauce Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 55 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup walnut pieces

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f grease a loaf pan.
  • 2 mix beaten egg with applesauce, oil sugars and salt, and combine thoroughly.
  • 3 stir in flours, baking soda and baking powder; mix well.
  • 4 stir in raisins and walnut pieces.
  • 5 pour into well-greased loaf pan and bake at 350° for 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
  • 6 let it rest in pan for 10 min., then turn out and allow to cool on rack.
  • 7 stores up to 4 days in air-tight container.
