Sonoma Toast

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced thin
  • 8 large fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil or 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 place bread on a baking sheet and broil 1 to 2 minutes, on each side, to toast.
  • 2 top with cheese slices and broil until cheese begins to melt, 1 to 2 minutes; remove from oven.
  • 3 top with slice tomato and basil leaves.
  • 4 in a small bowl, whisk together vinegar and oil; sprinkle over toasts.
  • 5 garnish with chopped basil or parsley.
