Rosemary, Red Onion Focaccia Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaf, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oregano
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/4 cups red onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 put first 9 ingredients in bread machine on dough cycle in order recommended by your bread maker.
  • 2 put 2 tablespoons oil in small fry pan over medium heat; add onion and saute for 3 minutes. stir in rosemary and stir for 1 minute. set aside. roll dough into a circle on a lightly floured board.
  • 3 cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
  • 4 poke holes in the top and brush with remaining olive oil.
  • 5 put onion and rosemary mixture on the top and bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
