Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 4 slices bread, crusts removed
- 4 ounces caerphilly cheese or 4 ounces lancashire cheese or 4 ounces french cantal cheese or 4 ounces english cheddar cheese
- 4 eggs, separated
- 4 teaspoons milk
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350f.
- 2 toast bread on one side.
- 3 slice cheese and place on the untoasted sides of the bread.
- 4 beat egg yolks with mil, salt and pepper.
- 5 whisk egg whites until very still then fold egg yolks into them.
- 6 pile on top of cheese slices.
- 7 bake for 10 to 15 minutes until well risen and golden brown.
- 8 serve immediately.
