Spiced Matzalan Meatballs

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 500 g lean ground lamb
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 tablespoons fresh coriander, roughly chopped

Recipe

  • 1 put everything into a food processor and whizz until well blended.
  • 2 using wet hands, shape the mixture into 20 meatballs and cook over hot coals or a non stick frying pan for about 10 minutes, turning frequently until well browned.
  • 3 serve in warmed flour tortillas, pitta or flatbreads with natural yogurt and lettuce leaves.
