Stuffed French Toast

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 8 sliced cinnamon-raisin bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 in a small bowl, stir the cream cheese and powdered sugar until well mixed.
  • 2 spread mixture evenly onto 4 slices of bread.
  • 3 top with remaining bread slices to make sandwiches.
  • 4 in a shallow bowl, beat the eggs using a whisk; whisk in the half-and-half, and sugar until well combined.
  • 5 melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 6 dip sandwiches in the egg mixture, make sure you completely coat both sides (do a couple at a time or how ever many your skillet will hold) cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden (add more butter to the skillet as needed).
  • 7 sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • 8 cut each sandwich diagonally and serve.
  • 9 serve with maple syrup, or fresh fruit or topping of your choice.
