The Best, Fastest Whole Wheat Bread- That The Kids Will Love Too

Total Time: 1 hr 25 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups hot water, from the tap
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons liquid lecithin
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/3 cup powdered milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 7 -8 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1 -2 tablespoon instant yeast

Recipe

  • 1 add ingredients in the order listed to bowl of kitchen aid or other heavy duty mixer.
  • 2 using a dough hook, mix well and add more flour if needed so that the dough cleans the sides of the bowl (dough should be slightly tacky).
  • 3 knead for 10 minutes.
  • 4 shape into 3 loaves. add dough to sprayed loaf pans.
  • 5 cover with tented plastic or cloth and let rise for about 1 hour.
  • 6 preheat oven to 400 for the last half hour of rising. it is ready to go in the oven when the dough has risen just above the top of pan.
  • 7 turn oven down to 350 and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
