Sage Tea Bread

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh sage, or
- 2 teaspoons dry rubbed sage
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 in a small saucepan,heat milk and sage until just warm (do not boil),set aside to cool.
- 2 in a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar.
- 3 add the eggs one at a time,beating well after each adition.
- 4 combine flour,baking powder and salt,add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture.
- 5 pour into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
- 6 bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 7 cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
