Sage Tea Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh sage, or
  • 2 teaspoons dry rubbed sage
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 in a small saucepan,heat milk and sage until just warm (do not boil),set aside to cool.
  • 2 in a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar.
  • 3 add the eggs one at a time,beating well after each adition.
  • 4 combine flour,baking powder and salt,add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture.
  • 5 pour into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
  • 6 bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • 7 cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
