Toasted Garlic-mozzarella Bread Slices

Ingredients

- 1 loaf italian bread, unsliced
- 1/2 cup softened butter, plus
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- black pepper
- 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (or to taste)
Recipe
- 1 set oven heat to broil.
- 2 cut the breat into about 1-1/2 inch slices.
- 3 in a small bowl combine soft butter with olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper until well combined.
- 4 place each slice of bread onto a large baking sheet.
- 5 spread the butter mixture on top of each slice.
- 6 broil for about 5 minutes or until slightly browned (keep an close eye on the slices, they brown quickly!).
- 7 remove from broiler and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of each slice.
- 8 return to broiler for about 2 minutes or until the cheese is slightly browned and melted.
- 9 serve immediately.
