Toasted Garlic-mozzarella Bread Slices

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 loaf italian bread, unsliced
  • 1/2 cup softened butter, plus
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • black pepper
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (or to taste)

Recipe

  • 1 set oven heat to broil.
  • 2 cut the breat into about 1-1/2 inch slices.
  • 3 in a small bowl combine soft butter with olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper until well combined.
  • 4 place each slice of bread onto a large baking sheet.
  • 5 spread the butter mixture on top of each slice.
  • 6 broil for about 5 minutes or until slightly browned (keep an close eye on the slices, they brown quickly!).
  • 7 remove from broiler and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of each slice.
  • 8 return to broiler for about 2 minutes or until the cheese is slightly browned and melted.
  • 9 serve immediately.
