Spinach And Oyster/clam Dip

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 -1 1/2 cup chopped fresh spinach
- 1 (8 ounce) jar processed cheese with jalapeno peppers
- 1 (8 ounce) can oysters, chopped, drained, rinsed (or minced clams equivelant)
Recipe
- 1 in a saucepan, cook onion and sweet pepper in butter until tender.
- 2 stir in flour, garlic powder andpepper.
- 3 add water. cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened and bubbly. cook and stir for 1 minute more.
- 4 stir in spinach and cheese. cook and stir until well blended.
- 5 stir into cheese mixture, heat through.
- 6 transfer to serving bowl.
- 7 serve with tortilla chips, french baguette bread slices, etc.
