Rogene's Bread Pudding With Vanilla Sauce

Ingredients

- 1/2 gallon milk
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 5 eggs
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- bread, sliced
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup milk, plus
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 -5 tablespoons vanilla
Recipe
- 1 to make bread pudding: mix everything but raisins. set aside.
- 2 in a 9x13 inch baking dish layer bread halfway up. pour mixture over. sprinkle raisins on top. bake at 350 degrees for approx 45-60 minutes, checking often for a knife to come out clean.
- 3 to make sauce: heat all ingredients except the vanilla over medium heat, stirring constantly. bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. remove from heat and add vanilla.
- 4 spoon yourself out some bread pudding and top it off with the sauce and some cool whip.
