The Best Banana Cake / Bread

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter flavor crisco
- 2 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- 4 mashed bananas
- 4 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 grease and flour 13 x 9 cake pan.
- 3 cream the sugar and shortening well.
- 4 add eggs and mix well.
- 5 mix the flour with the baking soda and set aside.
- 6 mash the bananas and add the buttermilk to the banana mixture.
- 7 alternately add the flour mixture.
- 8 add the bananas to the creamed mixture.
- 9 add the vanilla and 1/2 cup pecans if you like and mix well.
- 10 (use 1/4 cup of milk and 3/4 tsp vinegar for the buttermilk).
- 11 i like to mash the bananas in the blender to make them smoother.
- 12 bake 35 - 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out almost clean.
