Salami Cheese Bread

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb hard salami
  • 1/2 lb provolone cheese or 1/2 lb mozzarella cheese
  • 1 lb bacon (cut up and fry. save 1/3 c. grease.)
  • 2 (1/4 ounce) packages yeast
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 8 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder

Recipe

  • 1 when buying salami and cheese, have the deli counter slice these about 1/4 thick in order to cut into cubes.
  • 2 mix 2 pkg. yeast in 3°c warm water.
  • 3 add salt. mix flour, don't use all and add baking powder.
  • 4 add yeast mixture to flour mixture in large round bowl.
  • 5 knead, put cover on bowl and let rise.
  • 6 cube salami and provolone. mix together with dough.
  • 7 add heated bacon grease. mix together, then cut dough into thirds.
  • 8 grease round pan and fit dough in pans.
  • 9 preheat oven.
  • 10 bake at 350 degreese for 1 hour.
