Sweet Rye Bread

Total Time: 4 hrs Preparation Time: 3 hrs Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk, scalded
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons yeast
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups rye meal
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seed

Recipe

  • 1 combine hot milk, molasses, brown sugar and salt. and butter.
  • 2 cool mixture to lukewarm; . add yeast to cooled milk.
