Tortillas

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • warm water

Recipe

  • 1 mix flour, baking powder and salt. add crisco to flour mix like pie crust. add warm water a little at a time until dough is soft. knead dough about 5 minutes. dough will be smooth and shouldn't stick to hands. put a little crisco in palm of hands and divide dough into balls. let balls sit for at least 15 minutes covered with clean towel. roll into 1/8" disks. cook on hot griddle.
