Strawberry Sponge Cake

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • strawberry
  • whipped cream

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f line an 8inch cake tin with non-stick baking parchment paper.
  • 2 bring water to a boil. melt butter in the boiling water.
  • 3 beat the eggs and sugar until very thick (this will take at least 10 minutes).
  • 4 sift the flour. fold into egg-sugar mixture. fold in butter-water mixture.
  • 5 pour batter into tin. bake 25 minutes until springy to the touch. cool on a rack.
  • 6 slice cake in half. fill with whipped cream and strawberries.
