Southern Corn Cakes

Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal 
- 1/2 cup boiling water 
- 1 tablespoon flour 
- 1 teaspoon salt 
- 1 egg 
- 1/2 cup milk 
-  vegetable oil, to fry cakes in 
Recipe
- 1 place cornmeal in a bowl and scalt it b adding the boiling water. allow to cool slightly. add the remaining ingredients and mix until smooth. 
- 2 pour by large spoonfuls into hot oil in a frying pan. when cakes are brown and crisp around edges (2 to 3 minutes) flip and cook the other side.
